University of Mount Union ４年生に在学中のの女学院卒業生の折出悠貴さんと、

マウントユニオン大学の留学生部長のMs. Dawn Adams から研修のレポートが届きました。

今日から本格的にマウントユニオンでの活動が始まりました。午前中はマウントユニオンの学長からの歓迎があり、また、長年マウントユニオンで勤務され、留学生をサポートしていただいているハロルド　ホールさんとお会いする機会がありました。

 

 

 

 

 

午前中のクラスではコミュニケーション学部の教授、コールマン先生と共に平和について考え話し合いました。そして、毎年恒例のマウントユニオンで一番歴史のあるChapman Hallの前で記念撮影です。

 

 

 

 

 

 

昼食は学内のカフェテリアでマウントユニオンの生徒と留学生と共に食べました。

 

 

昼食後は近所の小学校へ文化交流のために訪問し、折り紙などをしたようです。午後にはコールマン先生と女学院卒業生であり社会学の教授である大藪先生のクラスを受けました。今日最後のイベントとして学内探検を行い、マウントユニオンの生徒とともにクイズに答えながらキャンパスを見学しました。学生寮に入り部屋を見学する機会があり、みなさん興味深そうに観察していました。

 

 

 

また、キャンパス内で私のお気に入りの場所、図書館にも見学に行き、普段マウントユニオンの生徒がどんなところで勉強しているのか見学していただきました。

 

 

今回の研修では昼食、ホストファミリーが迎えに来てくれる間の時間などでマウントユニオンの生徒と会話したり、ゲームをする機会があり、文化交流も英語の練習もでき、とても充実した研修になりそうです。

The students are so much fun!  We visited the second school today and taught 6^th and 8^th grade art students how to make paper cranes!  I want to share some UMU publicity surrounding the students visit this week.  Raider Weekly is a campus publication sent on Mondays of each week.

Hiroshima Jogakuin Visit There is a long and prosperous relationship between Mount Union and Hiroshima Jogakuin High School, a girls’ academy founded by a female Methodist missionary before WWII. This year marks the seventh group of high school students visiting Mount Union and sharing their message of Peace. We are honored to host the group of exceptional young women during Women’s History Month.   Students from Hiroshima Jogakuin High School will be on campus March 28-April 3. During their time in Alliance, they will be visiting area schools and civic organizations sharing a message about Peace and Japanese culture. A Peace and Culture presentation is scheduled for Thursday, March 31 at 4:15 pm in the HPCC Newbold Room and is open to the entire campus community.  Light refreshments will be served. We invite you to welcome the students to Mount Union when you see them on campus!

のイベント告知も行われています。
