【ポイント】

 

●職のない厳しい生活が6ヶ月続くかもしれません。帰国の手段も減ってきています。お金は？ビザは？医療保険は？あなたは大丈夫ですか。直ちに日本への帰国も視野に入れて行動して下さい。

 

【本文】

 

・豪州における新型コロナウイルスの感染状況が深刻化する中，連日豪州政府からワーキングホリデーの皆さんの仕事や生活に直結する新たな施策や方針が発表されています。

 

・豪州政府による施設閉鎖や活動制限は6か月もしくはそれ以上続き，その間，雇用情勢は厳しい状況が継続すると見込まれます。他州に求人があっても，入州制限をしている州では働けない可能性が高いです。また，現時点では豪州政府からワーキングホリデーの方に対する経済的援助はありません。

 

・国際線・国内線の運航停止や減便も増えており，日本への帰国もますます難しい状況になっています。ビザの有効期限によっては日本への帰国便が確保できなくなると不法滞在という状況に陥ってしまう可能性もあります。

 

・ 若年者であっても健康状態が悪いと重篤化し，生命に影響がおよぶ可能性もあります。特に，ワーキングホリデーの方の中には無保険の方もいるようですが，もし無保険で重篤化した場合，医療費数が百万円から数千万円と非常に高額になることが見込まれます。

 

・ワーキングホリデーの方で，蓄えが少なく近い将来生活が困窮してしまう可能性のある方，現在仕事がなく日本の家族等からの援助を得るのが難しい方は，直ちに日本への帰国をご検討下さい。

Important Notice from the

International Education Office

 

Dear Parents and Custodians,

 

We deeply value your children in our community of learners and can appreciate the challenges families are facing due to COVID19.

 

With the COVID19 health situation in Canada, parents need to weigh the risk of their child remaining in Canada versus that of having them travel back to their home country. We hope the following information will help parents in making this difficult decision.

 

Today, Vancouver airport is one of only 4 Canadian airports open for international flights. In the next days and weeks, there may be more travel restrictions, and more closed borders. Many students have already returned or are preparing to return.

 

International students who are enrolled with a K-12 school in B.C. will be allowed to complete their coursework for this school year via online learning opportunities from overseas countries. More details will be available later.

 

Every student will receive a final mark, and all students on track to pass their grade will do so. Therefore, studies for the next school year will not be affected. We will be pleased to issue certificates of attendance and report cards, upon request. Final report cards will be issued in June. We will continue with the process of preparing reports for validation, for those students that require them.

 

Arrangements to return home should be made as soon as possible, while there are still open borders and available flights. Many countries have called for their citizens to return home, and this increases daily. Check with your country’s embassy website for travel requirements as needed. We ask that the International Education Office is informed of any travel plans.

 

While students are still in Burnaby, please help to strictly enforce the importance of physical distancing for COVID19 prevention. Students are to STAY HOME unless otherwise directed by host parents.

 

We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to support your children both here and abroad.
