現在、アメリカ政府による学生ビザや、交換交流ビザを含む、F,M.Jビザの発給が一時停止になっています。原因は同時多発テロ以降に導入されたSEVISシステムの不具合の模様です。復旧の目処等についての発表はまだありません。
このことに関して、現在アメリカに留学中の方は現段階ですべきことは特にありません。Springセメスターからの留学を予定している方は、早期の復旧がなされれば問題はありませんが、これらの方を含め、今後アメリカへのビザ申請を予定されている方は事態の推移に注意を払ってください。

Colleagues,
As you may already know, the attached memo was circulated today to all SEVIS users, noting that "the Department of State (DoS) has recently identified difficulties with its Consolidated Consular Database (CCD) communicating with the Student and Exchange Visitor Program’s (SEVP) Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)." As a result, the Department has temporarily suspended the issuance of all J, F, and M visas.
The memo notes SEVIS users will be notified of updates and changes with regard to this issue. The Alliance will forward these updates as we receive them.
